CHARACTER INFORMATION
NAME: Leonard Snart aka Captain Cold
CANON: The Flash & DC's Legends of Tomorrow
AGE: 42
CANON POINT: Episode 15 of the first season of Legends of Tomorrow, seconds before sacrificing himself to destroy the Oculus.
BACKGROUND: Wiki Article covering his appearances on the Flash. This article doesn't go into detail about what happens in Legends of Tomorrow, but it does cover his background as revealed in various episodes of LoT. I assume the lack of detail about LoT is because he's a main character and to go into that much detail would be very long XD.
INCENTIVE: Len wouldn't be that difficult to persuade. He has requested to be provided with a way to escape from the explosion at the last moment, by time travelling back to Central City in 2016. He figures that way he can eventually hook up with Mick Rory again and continue his adventures.
FIT: Len is pansexual (the actor has stated that this is how he plays him) and he has a healthy libido. My headcanon is that he's never been in a relationship before and generally either picks someone up at a bar or hires an escort if he wants to get his rocks off, so he has no problem with casual sex. It is clear from canon that he is generally willing to do literally whatever he needs to do to get what he wants, and in this case he would consider this cheap at twice the price. After all, basically what they're offering is the chance to take a sex vacation where he doesn't have to have sex with anyone he doesn't want to have sex with, in order to save his life. No big deal at all to Len.
His history is somewhat checkered and he's not without hangups. (The remainder of this paragraph may be triggery) Len was physically and emotionally abused on a fairly regular basis by his father. Lisa shows off one scar in the show, and it's nasty. She references fists and broken bottles being used against the Snart children. In Family of Rogues, Len's father Lewis puts a bomb in Lisa's head and kidnaps Len to force him to help in a diamond heist. At one point, Lewis reaches out to touch Len's shoulder in approval, and Len pulls away, looking frightened and repelled. In the shows, Len is never anything other than fully covered. Even in a Russian sauna, he is fully wrapped up in a robe and complaining about how hot he is.
My headcanon, therefore, is that Len has a number of nasty scars on his torso and upper thighs and arms, which he doesn't like to show off. He will tend to have sex in which he maintains some level of control over the proceedings, and will by and large keep his clothes on even in the bedroom. I think it would require a level of trust for him to take his shirt off, and Len doesn't give his trust easily.
CONSENT: Len may be a criminal, but he has a good heart. He has never done anything non-consensual in canon, and it's my view that he is actually quite well-aware of consent and would never rape anyone, because of his own history. He calls his father a monster, and clearly doesn't want to be like him.
He would push limits to be a shit, especially if he knew the other person was enjoying themselves, but there is a line that he will simply not cross, and as soon as it stopped being fun for the other person he would stop immediately. I believe that he is savvy enough to be aware of the need for things like safewords when appropriate.
As Len has not had a relationship in canon, it's difficult for me to provide solid canon evidence for this view. I can say that in the situations where he has expressed interest, he has always been a perfect gentleman. In one episode, he charmed a Russian physicist, and took her on a date. He walked her home and they kissed at the end of the interaction. She initiated the kiss and he didn't push it any further. I believe he was actually not interested in her - his reason for doing the whole thing was to get information and a way to get in and steal a weapon she was working on. But she invited him in and he could have totally had a nice liaison with a beautiful woman, but instead he turned her down gently.
The writers have also developed a relationship between Len and Sara Lance, the White Canary. He flirts with her from time to time throughout the show, starting by watching her dance at a bar in the first episode of Legends of Tomorrow. Other times he expresses overt interest verbally, but in ways that it could be he's just deflecting attention from something else. In the episode where I'm taking Len from, he makes a more overt and clear advance, saying that being on the ship made him think about the future and basically whether there was a future for them together. Sara says if he wanted to steal a kiss from her, he'd better be "one hell of a thief". He accepts this without question and doesn't act like a baby about being rejected. Later in the episode, seconds before his death, Sara kisses him. Again, she is the one who initiates it, and he looks surprised and pleased.
So basically the upshot is, though Len is a criminal, a thief, a liar and a murderer, he has never shown any evidence of being interested in pushing himself sexually on anyone, even someone he clearly wants very much.
SAMPLES: Sample One Note: In this sample, we are playing with a prompt of him being soulmates with Mick Rory, marked by a magical tattoo on their bodies.
Sample Two Note: A crossover with the Marvel Cinematic Universe
ANYTHING ELSE? Immediately before he comes to Eudio, he gives his cold gun and his pinkie ring to his best friend Mick, who he just knocked out to save his life. While I understand that his cold gun is a powerful weapon, I'm wondering if he can have both of those back? The ring is purely sentimental. He got it on his very first heist with hishusbandpartner, Mick. And Captain Cold is just not Captain Cold without his gun! I understand if they wouldn't let him have it, but he'd be quite a bit more nervous being around metahumans without a way to stand up to them, as he's a normal human.
The Meeting
Feb. 6th, 2016 02:55 pmLen crawled in between two bushes and settled himself into a comfortable crouch, then peered through a pair of binoculars towards the bank on the other side of the street. He had been casing the joint for the past week, from one angle or another, learning every detail of the shift changes and security protocols. This meticulous preparation was the main reason why he had always been so successful as a thief.
He was wearing a set of comfortable slacks and a button-down shirt. Though he was armed, it was with a regular gun, not his cold gun. He wasn't here to call attention to himself - in fact, if he were caught, he could easily seem to be a late-night jogger who'd settled down for a rest in the bushes.
Unfortunately, he wasn't prepared to be targetted. The first attack came unexpectedly, a gun pressed to the back of his head, and an unfamiliar, hostile voice growling at him. "I ought to just blow your head off right here."
He stiffened, and lowered the binoculars. "I'm sure that won't be necessary," he murmured. "Why don't you tell me what you want, and we can come to some kind of arrangement."
