[It's hard for him to lay his feelings bare, even with his own sister. A hundred times harder, now that he's lost the one person who's actually declared love for him. But he can shower her with presents and attention and affection, and he does. It's the only way he knows how to show her what he doesn't dare to think, let alone say.
His fingers brush lightly up and down her back in gentle patterns.]
Think I could stay here tonight? [His tone is soft, wistful, even though he doesn't expect she'll say no]
( she sighs contentedly as his fingers draw against her skin, nuzzling against his chest to show it. a smile makes its way onto her face at the question, a breathy laugh hidden by her mane of blonde hair. it's kind of a ridiculous question, all things considered, but it's still stupidly endearing.
lifting her head, smile turning sly, she responds, ) Yeah, I think that might be okay. As long as you let me drag you into my bed at some point.
[He smiles, feeling foolish and regretting the question, but he's still feeling a bit better than before even though he doesn't think this changes anything]
Well, I wasn't planning on sleeping on the couch, baby.
( with a mischievous little smile, she lays a peck against his chest, against his mouth, and then climbs off of him with a certain spring in her step. )
Come and get me, then, crook. ( and then she's off to her bedroom in a heartbeat, tossing a playful wink over her shoulder. )
[He's up in a moment, following along after her with a smirk. In the bedroom, he switches off the light automatically before shedding the rest of his clothing. He knows Sara's aware of the scarring, but it's still weird to him to just show off his skin, even to her.
He gives her a light slap on the ass as he passes, then climbs into bed like he owns the place]
( it might sound like a protest as his hand leaves a satisfying sting against her skin, but she's too busy laughing for it to be taken seriously. sara's just going to climb onto the bed on all fours until she's satisfied with her spot right above him so she can sneak a lingering kiss.
when her lips part from his, she sobers a little, gazing down at him as best as she can through the darkness. )
[He might be grinning like a fool - it kinda feels that way - but Sara probably can't see it, so it's okay. He slips his arms around her and tugs her close, to rest her head against his chest]
( sara's arms draw around him in a tight embrace, content to hide how smitten she probably looks right now by nuzzling against him when he pulls her close. her ear's pressed to his chest and she can feel len's heart beating in there. it's calm and comfortable and quiet and it makes her breathe out a contented sigh.
she doesn't dare say anything — she might say something that she's not sure either of them is prepared to hear, especially under these circumstances. sara holds it inside, she holds him as tightly as she can, almost as strongly as she feels about him. )
[The way she holds him so tightly is comforting and just feels so good. In fact, everything about being with Sara feels great. Len never feels like he's got to worry - she'll stick by him, and won't be scared off by him being himself. For some reason, she doesn't seem to be turned off by him being a pain in the ass sometimes.
He almost feels like it's safe to feel so strongly about her, even though those feelings were terrifying to him. Maybe things wouldn't last, but somehow he doubted she would hurt him the way Barry's disappearance had hurt. Even if they parted, it would still be something great that he could look back on with fondness and pleasure.
So he holds her close and lets himself drift, a smile playing across his face as he dozes off]
