Yeah, ( she responds with a bit of a mischievous little glint in her eye. ) Been getting more and more acquainted with your friend Linda Park.
( there's a soft peck pressed against the corner of his mouth, a soft hum low in the back of her throat as she leans into him. ) I'm guessing you've been having a good time, too.
[He smiles faintly, shifting to nibble at her earlobe so she can't see his face.] Mmmm, well isn't she lucky. I'm almost surprised you remembered I existed.
[His smile falters slightly, but his tone sounds sincere] Oh yeah, the greatest. Barry Allen busted out the 'L' word on me last week. [And then he vanished. Fuck his life]
Oh, please, ( sara breathes through a soft laugh as his breath tickles her ear, her fingers pressing lightly against the back of his neck.
except — ) What?
( it comes out a little sharper, a little more quickly than she'd wanted it to, as her hands slide to settle on his shoulders so she can pull back and really look at leonard, gaze sweeping over his face to try to gauge some sort of reaction.
barry allen told leonard snart that he loves him. she has a hard time figuring out how she feels about that — surprise? definitely; jealousy? hopefully not — but sara mainly just wants to figure out how he feels about such a declaration, one that's definitely also crossed her mind maybe a few times too many. this feels a little too important to just gloss it over, laugh it off.
she tries again, hoping to meet his gaze if he'll let her. ) I mean — what did you say?
[He's not sure how to interpret her reaction, but it doesn't sound positive. This is something he's still working through how to feel about it, especially since Barry followed it up by disappearing back home, where his feelings will surely change.
He's inclined to laugh it off, and pulls away from her, walking into the room and shrugging dramatically]
Didn't say much of anything about it. Kid's fooling himself, but it's a nice sentiment.
I know he feels it. [He turns around, spreading his hands and giving her a wicked grin] Who couldn't love this, right? Especially since he doesn't know any better. But that's all right - it's flattering as hell. [He walks towards her again, a cold flame lit in his blue eyes] But what are we talking about him for? You're right here, and he doesn't matter right now.
He does matter, because he's important to you. ( his theatrics bring forth a standard eye roll and a contradictory little smile to match it that leonard's probably way too familiar with by now. he might be walking towards her, but he's gonna have to work for her affections considering her arms are back to being folded across her chest, no matter how close he gets. )
There are some people who do know better that still care about you a whole lot, too, you know. ( and there's a challenging lift of an eyebrow at that — like it's not obvious who she's talking about. spoilers: it's not mick. )
[He gives a twitch, and recognizes that look in her eye, too. It reminds him of when she said he'd have to work hard to steal a kiss, and he stops just within arm's reach of her, tilting his head and leaning down towards her slightly, but not reaching for her] My, my, and who might you be talking about?
( she simply tilts her chin up just enough to look him straight in the eye with him leering down at her like that, but otherwise, sara remains stock still. sometimes league training still comes in handy, even in the simplest of contexts. )
Mick. Lisa. They know better. ( and she pauses, considering, remembering that night that maybe for fhe first time in a long time, she didn't feel brave enough. she didn't feel brave enough to say the extent of her feelings to his face and hid behind arabic instead. )
( if he's gonna frown, he can frown — sara's not going to stop him. it will not, however, prevent sara from cupping his jaw with her hands and pulling his face nice and close as though she can somehow make what she wants to say sink in a little better with the proximity. )
My point ... ( she takes a breath, a pause. ) My point is that you think people love you in spite of yourself, but people love you because of who you are. ( there, bam, she said that previously unspoken l-word, and she didn't even need to go out and throw up her feelings on him directly.
with a small furrow of her brow, she tacks on: ) And you're gonna have to deal with it, Leonard.
[She'd said the word, but it was a long way from a declaration like the one Barry had hit him with, so he didn't lose his cool entirely. His eyes flicker with uncertainty and he pulls away, affecting unconcern when really the proximity just makes him feel exposed.]
No doubt you're correct -- oh. One thing, though. Apparently I'm leprosy to Lisa's love life. I knew she'd fly the coop sooner or later, but I kinda figured she'd at least let me meet the guy.
[He's whining and he's sober enough to know it. He scowls and adds.] But like I said before. You didn't bring me here for this. Barry's left town. Lisa doesn't need me. But you've still got a use for me, so let's get down to brass tacks, and actually enjoy our evening, all right? Or have you changed your mind?
( now it's time for sara to be the one who frowns once he pulls away for a second time, but continues to rattle off people and problems so quickly it could make her head spin. lisa's in love? barry's gone? it starts to clarify leonard's mood, though, even if she doesn't know the finer details.
"actually enjoy their evening" practically makes sara scoff, but instead she just gives him a little shove so that he might fall back onto her couch. if this is what he wants, she'll give it to him, pinning him there by climbing onto his lap. ) Can't get rid of me that easily, Len. I'm not going anywhere.
[Now this is more like it. Less talking about things that make him feel uncomfortable, and more taking their clothes off. He runs his hands up her thighs as she straddles him, the uncertain, wary look in his eyes starting to clear and be replaced by hunger.]
Glad to hear it. [He leans up to kiss her, too happy to just forget all that stuff - Barry's abandonment, Len's ubiquitous tendency to fuck-up royally with every person who truly matters to him.]
( his hands feel nice when they run up her thighs greedily as she settles on top of him, fingers running over coarse hair at the back of his neck as their lips meet. her resolve might be weakening a little, but it doesn't mean that she's forgotten about the importance of the conversation that she can tell he's so desperate to move past and ignore.
sara breathes out a soft sigh as she breaks the kiss, face lingering close to his, fingers curling idly into the back of his shirt. ) You and me ever gonna have any kind of serious talk? ( she presses her cheek against his temple so she can maybe avoid looking at him for a second despite being on top of him, continuing, ) I really mean what I said.
[Len stiffens at her question. He doesn't like talking about feelings - it's something that he isn't comfortable with. But to just say so feels cowardly.
He slips his arms around her waist, grateful that she's at least allowed him to keep his expression hidden.]
I thought we just had a serious talk... but if there's more, then by all means.
( there's a soft groan at that; he can be such a difficult ass about this kind of thing. it was true back on the waverider, in the midst of he and mick's hot-and-cold war that she'd made an attempt to intervene in, and apparently it's still true now. at least leonard snart is nothing if not consistent.
she's not even really sure what she's looking for from him — something. anything. maybe. with a soft laugh and a short shake of her head, she responds, ) Yeah, 'till you started changing the subject. ( as though she didn't encourage it very obviously herself, but. )
I think you like certain people a lot more than you like to admit, Leonard Snart.
( he can squirm. he's allowed to squirm. in fact, sara fully expects him to squirm.
it's a pretty good answer, she'll admit. his bravery is rewarded with a kiss as desired, a hand brushing up along his neck, thumb against his jaw, so she can do it all over again, mouth lingering against his as she savors this closeness with how tight his grip is on her. she doesn't speak for a moment, and when she does, it's low, voice hushed almost to the point of a whisper. )
[The kiss is good. Great, even. He loves kissing her, and he's not ashamed to admit it. He sighs softly as it comes to an end, starting to relax, figuring that he's pleased her and moved on from whatever weird mood has her trying to get him to Talk.]
Yeah, we're a couple of crazy kids in a crazy world. [He grins up at her, and drops a hand down, giving her ass a squeeze]
Kids, ( she repeats through a breath of laughter. yeah, sure, they're crazy kids alright, even if sara hasn't felt like one in at least ten years — surely even longer for leonard.
but the firm squeeze of his palm makes her hum low in her throat, arching into him. pressing her lips to his jaw briefly, she starts: ) So. ( nope, it's time for another light peck. ) So what kinds of crazy things are you thinking about doing tonight, crook?
I was thinking of doing... you. [He grins, knowing it's not at all the answer she was looking for. The groping continues, almost lazily.] My sweet innocent flower.
( there's an incredibly self-satisfied smirk at that, her fingers curling into the fabric of his shirt at his shoulder as her hips roll slowly against his lap just once, just as lazily, an encouraging response to the way he gropes her. a sweet, innocent flower she may not be, but the other part? he might just be right. )
Mmm, ( she hums thoughtfully, eyes fluttering closed as his fingertips brush over her skin, tracing carved muscle. her grip on his shirt may tighten almost imperceptibly, but it happens all the same, smile still playing at the corners of her mouth. ) Interesting.
